Love it! Gruene is one of my absolute favorite places in Texas!! Heck, one of my favorite places ever. Have you ever eaten at the Gristmill? Fabulous! Especially their Gristburger! YUMMO!
We had JUST had lunch in San Marcos before we decided to drive to Gruene. I wanted to eat there but we didnt stay long enough to have dinner there either. Next time for sure!!
I've been to Gruene, Texas!!!!! I went there with a friend who lived in Austin. It's a great little town, perfect for lazy summer afternoons. The food at the Gristmill is YUM-ME and life doesn't get much better when sipping wine in a shady spot either. Beautiful country!!!
As you can see next to the Shiner beer was my cup of wine. DELISH!!! We swore we were gonna try to get out there more than we do. Its not that far but we just get so busy. Hugs back sweet girl!
Kathy, its the cutest little town! AND its actually pronounced Green like the color. My man hates having his pic taken but as you see he knows he has no choice. lol
I love Gruene Hall! I have had a cold Shiner in exactly the same spot you guys took that pic! The General Store and antique shops there are great. So is the Gristmill - love a steak there!
How cool is that! I love that you're familiar with some stomping grounds around Texas. I wasnt able to eat at the Gristmill but we're going back this year just so we can.
I miss Shiner Beer and Gruene Hall. One of the best places to see Texas Country Music! Seen Jerry Jeff, Pat Green, Chris Wall, Robert Earl and Reckless Kelly there.
I love a general store. Something so quaint about them.
ReplyDeleteI know me too. Inside was so cute too, they sold old fashioned candy and cute little souvenirs.
