Y- YOU are my Sunshine

Its been raining A LOT here lately in Dallas. We've had some crazy thunder and lightning storms and today it didn't get over 60 degrees.  That's unheard of in Dallas at this time of year.  Now I am not complaining in the least bit. I hate- yes I said hate- our summers! They are brutal and way too hot to have fun in the summer. I like that our lakes are filling up and the grass is green and not brown and crunchy.  However, with all this rain I need some sunshine to brighten my days.

Because there isn't anything better than Johnny Cash singing You are my Sunshine to June Carter.

You are my Sunshine PrintableHope yall have a sunshiny day!!! One more day of the A to Z challenge.  Cant believe it.

  5. The weather has been so similar here in NC! A lot of rain and cooler temps, which I'm trying to not complain about because mid July I'm sure I will be tired of the heat and humidity!!! But a little sunshine always helps to lift your spirits for sure!

  6. I loved the rain because it has filled up our lakes and I hate our scorching summers! Ready for some normal, nice. weather to be outside walking or sitting on the patio!

  8. Hello there.
I too detest summer...too hot, too humid, too many bugs! Here on the East Coast, we topped 70 degrees today with a slight breeze...that I can manage!
Hang in there, just one more letter to go ;-)
    Thanks for sharing.

  9. Reminds me, in a sad way, of this song by Rosanne Cash from Black Cadillac:

I'm the sparrow on the roof
I'm the list of everyone I have to lose
I'm the rainbow in the dirt
I am who I was and how much I can hurt

So I will look for you
    In stories of the kings
    Westward leading, still proceeding
    To the world unseen

I'm the mirror in the hall
From your empty room I can hear it fall
Now that we must live apart
I have a lock of hair and one-half of my heart

So I will look for you
Between the grooves of songs we sing
    Westward leading, still proceeding
    To the world unseen

There are no gifts that will be found
Wrapped in winter, laid beneath the ground
You must be somewhere in the stars
'Cause from a distance comes the sound of your guitar

And I will look for you in Memphis and the miles between
I will look for you in morphine and in dreams
I will look for you in the rhythm of my bloodstream
    Westward leading, still proceeding
    To the world unseen

  11. Hi Holli - lovely post and that song is brilliant isn't it. Then you've had some rain ... it's good when it comes isn't it ... we need a bit down here in the South East of England, but it's still cold - even though that brilliant orb is high in the sky ... cheers Hilary
