A little music for the Halloween mood

I'm still in decorating mode every night after work in preparation for Holliween this weekend. I cant wait!
So here are a few songs on my playlist that I love to hear every year:

Dead mans party- Oingo Boingo

Living Dead girl- Rob Zombie
Thriller - Michael Jackson

Time warp - Rocky Horror Picture show

  1. Hi, Holli-ween!

I well remember that video by Oingo Boingo because it was heavily requested and frequently played on the MTV style station where I worked at the time. The beginning of the vid reminds me of the Grateful Dead skeleton marionette video "Touch Of Grey" which was released the following year:

Ha! I caught hell from some of my readers when I posted Rob Zombie's "Living Dead Girl" a few years ago. It's a great horror rock song and I own that Zombie CD. I'll never forget the big splash made by Michael Jackson's "Thriller." I was still working at my first TV station in Pennsylvania at the time of its release, and I asked the production guys to make me a HQ dub of the video for my personal collection. Michael's girlfriend in the video, Playboy Playmate Ola Ray, was unable to launch her career with the role and eventually sued Michael over uncollected royalties. I enjoyed the bizarre scene from the horror musical Rocky Horror Picture Show, a cult phenomenon of the 1970s that is still being reworked in the 21st century.

Thank you for the creepy entertainment, dear friend Holli!

    1. WHAT? I think she sued Michael because she saw dollar signs with him being a multi millionaire. I wonder if they settled or if she won or lost that lawsuit. I'll have to go look it up.
Thanks for stopping by and i'm glad you liked my song choices. Have a great rest of your week my friend

  2. Well, my experience was just a little different than the Shadster's. The Oingo-Boingo was the only one I didn't know (but like!) Living Dead Girl became the name we had for this one skinny girl who lived in a former neighborhood when the song came out. She had to be near-anorexic and was WAY too young to be smoking like we saw her doing all the time.

    1. So if you're familiar with Danny Elfman ( he's written and produced tons of soundtracks such as Nightmare before Christmas, Beetlejuice, etc) , Danny was lead singer of band Oingo Boingo.
Sometimes I am tempted to start smoking if it would make me be skinnier!

  3. Awesome music! I, too, remember when the Thriller video was first released. No one made music videos in the 80's like Michael Jackson did! Your party will be so much fun. What amazing costumes will you and Todd be rocking this year? -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
