Paradise
I'm currently in unpacking Hell! My home gives me great anxiety and I hate staring at boxes . We can only do a little bit at a time and I'm clearly running out of a patience. It's sad when going to work everyday actually gives me peace of mind. I imagine myself away from all the moving and unpacking and I'm on a far away beach resort that resembles Paradise. Laying by the ocean, listening to waves crash into the shore, a fruity drink with an umbrella in it and not a worry in the world except wondering what amazing seafood dish will be for dinner. Will it be lobster , shrimp or crab legs? Heck, it's paradise so I am skinny and I can have the pleasure of it all!!

I know that your house is in disarray right now, and it seems like you will never get to the end of the unPacking, but there will come a tipping Point when you realize you're getting the job done and everything is falling into Place. In the meantime it makes Perfect sense to Pick an imaginary Paradise and go there to relax whenever you Please.

Maybe you can carve out one area of home that feels uncluttered and peaceful soon. Then you'll have one place at home that doesn't make you anxious and stressed out. Of course, that doesn't mean you can avoid the rest of the house forever, but when it's really bad, it isn't Everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI know . I just want it done and we are so tired when we get home from work. Not to mention my longer commute now. I know I need to accept it will take time but i have a hard time being patient.

ReplyDeleteYep. That's the plan. I unpacked 2 boxes last night and tried to get my office together for Friday when I work from home.
DeleteThose are amazing pictures. I imagine a time when the entire Earth can be one big paradise. There are no big cities with traffic jams and noise pollution or smog pollution. Everyone gets along with one another. There is no more crime or violence. There is satisfying work for everyone, no one is going hungry. There is no racial bigotry, everyone is happy and enjoying life to the fullest extent and no one has to die. Can you imagine that? Now THAT would be paradise.

DeleteMy paradise is just exactly what you described. Years ago I fell in love with the beach. I wish I lived on a beach! But alas they can't be found in landlocked Kansas
