Random crap

Its been a loooong week!  If there was a chance for things to go wrong this week , they did. For real- the list is long and I was going to share then decided to delete everything because I was a whiny baby and no one wants to read that crap! I lost a cousin this week and funeral is next week and I've had a severe asthma flare up with 2 visits to Dr's.  That was just part of the fun .
So most of all you know how much I love Halloween and I host a large party with theme every year. I usually announce the theme for next year during the previous year so they can get their costumes on sale or have a year to prepare.  This year's theme is  Steampunk.  After Christmas I went to At Home ( do yall have those- used to be called Garden Ridge), and their Christmas stuff was on clearance. I was so excited that they had 5 glass hot air balloon ornaments and they were half off. I bought them all. I think I will tie them to some pretty rope and make a garland.  I also have had a connection to hot air balloons. I have one on my wall in front of my desk which is pretty with ornament and pompoms.
Hot air balloons can symbolize uplifting spirit, the love of flight ,a quest for spiritual knowledge and rising above practical matters- letting go of fear and caution.

Our weather is confused. We've had high temps reaching 80 and then this morning it was 25. We've had our air conditioner on and now our heater.
Have yall watched the Netflix series Tidying up by Marie Kondo? She has also written books and some friends said that the books make more sense then to just watch the episodes.  I watched the series and got the main gist of things.  So I have been trying to clear out some unwanted things and trying to keep things that spark joy for me. I managed to get through one side of my closet last night and I have large bag for goodwill and a bag for a friend who wanted to be my recipient of hand me downs.
I am so happy that we don't have a ton of things planned this weekend and I can take it easy around the house. What do yall have planned?  Sorry for the poopy post but this is as good as it gets today!
I will end on this note- I WAS able to get my concert tickets! Not the same ones and theyre on opposite side of stadium but I got them and I am excited.  Two of my fave bands Live and Shinedown among a few others will be performing there too.

    1. Its only 6 episodes so it doesn't take very long to get thru. I like that she's not about you getting rid of something if you love it.
I only saw a few of the Gilmore Girls series.

  3. The trick to writing whiny posts is to do it in a way that you can laugh at yourself- and get everyone else, too. Impossible to do with a death in the family involved though...

    1. I had a cousin pass away last week and he was only in his 40's. In some ways, I am jealous.

  4. Hi, Holli!

I'm sorry to learn you had a Murphy's Law week, and especially sorry that your cousin died. You just took a vacation from your grief and now need to deal with more of it. At least there were a few things that went right for you this week such as finding those unique hot air balloon ornaments. They're striking, and I do hope they will lift your spirits and renew your hope. I always feel happier and more centered after I rid my life of clutter. Your post did indeed end on a positive note with word that you secured tickets to see a show featuring two of your favorite bands. I was already familiar with Shinedown but needed to look up Live. I was surprised to discover they are from my hometown, York, PA. They formed in 1984 the same year I left town and moved to Florida, and that explains why I never heard of them. I'm sure you will post a review the show and I hope you have a great time. Have a safe and happy weekend, dear friend Holli!

    1. I have posted about Live before. They are soooo good and I've seen them a few times now. The concert is in May and I am so excited.
Still struggling with breathing and really hoping I get some relief soon. It's literally exhausting.

  5. Asthma is not an easy mistress to live with. And two hospital-worthy attacks in such short time is rather overwhelming physically and emotionally. I wonder if the attack was brought up by the passing of your cousin (my condolences). I hadn't had a serious asthma attack in years, but when my little brother passed away I got so sick that I could barely breathe.

I'm glad you found the decorations. May the balloons do exactly what they symbolize. I hope this week brings better things.

About tidying up... I am so jealous.

  6. So sorry to hear about your cousin. ((Hugs)) I of course can relate to your asthma flare up. Hope you are feeling better. Wow! I had to look up the Steampunk, didn't know what it was. Those hot air balloons will make a lovely garland. No I haven't watched her on Netflix yet but definitely plan to! Have a nice quiet weekend.
