Flashback to much earlier days

My cousin Kerrie was visiting with my grandma Mimi last week and saw a picture on her nightstand that she had never seen before.  She took a pic with her phone and texted it to me right then.  I literally started crying because I have never seen this picture before and I don't have a single one of the two of us together from when I was a child.  My mom had a small suitcase that held all my special moments and certificates like baptism, first communion, baby pics, etc.  20 years ago, it burned in a fire so I have nothing.
I know I've mentioned numerous times that my parents were teen parents- Dad was 18 and mom was 17 when I was born.  I just love this picture.  Also in the picture is a black and white dog and her name was Twinkie.  My mom said she was the greatest dog and Twinkie actually saved my life.  I had her the Twinkie story many times.  I was a small toddler just learning to walk and it was one of those split seconds that my parents turned their heads and I was walking into the street and Twinkie jumped behind me and grabbed my diaper with her mouth and pulled me backwards and at that time a car was passing the street.  Twinkie was a hero.
I couldn't be very old in this picture.

We are getting rain here in Dallas and its glorious!!! I love rain and I love that its cooling down the temps .  Now if we can pray for the rain to move west and quench the horrible fires going on .
I am heading to east Texas tomorrow to spend the day with my other grandmother Nanny.  She's been in and out of the hospital and I need to hug her neck.  She is my favorite grandma and she means the world to me.  She just turned 91 last month.  Mimi is 90 .  Lots of longevity in the bloodline.

Have a great weekend!!

Erasure and stuff

Happy Friday ya'll!!! Soooo glad its the weekend.  I have a busy weekend but it beats working, right?! Tonight I am going to the Erasure concert with my best friend from high school.  I loved loved Erasure in the 80's early 90's.  I am excited to see them live tonight.  We went for the cheap lawn seats to just chill and enjoy.  I'm hoping there's a breeze tonight.
Tomorrow we are going to Todd's cousins house for a harp recital.  She is very well known in the Harp world and is traveling to Australia in a few weeks to play a few shows there. Tomorrow is a preview of what her performance will be Down Under.  She played at our wedding and it was so special.  Most of the day i'll be cleaning my house to prepare for a Church lady swimming party Lets get cool by the Pool theme.
After church on Sunday, I am having all the church ladies ( so far only 13 RSVP'd) over for some Mexican food and a dip in the pool from 1 to 4.  Its a time to get connected and relax before school starts and its adults only.  Next week our church is hosting a family day at the lake so everyone is getting babysitter and enjoying some adult time around the pool for my event.  I am looking forward to really meeting some ladies that I see weekly bud don't really know them.  I am serving beef taco meat and grilled chicken to make tacos, nachos or salad.  I'm also making a corn dip which is so good!  Others are bringing rice, beans, desserts etc potluck style.
Never a dull moment but I really don't mind always being on the Go.  There are plenty days that I do just sit and veg on the couch so....
Whatcha got going this weekend?  Have fun and be careful!

Here are some Erasure songs that I enjoy:
Chains of love

Chorus
Oh LaAmour

LIVE and Counting Crows

So last night, Todd and I attended the 25th anniversary of Counting Crows and Live tour at the Toyota Pavilion in Irving. Its a new venue in DFW and was our first time there.  It has a covered section with seats and a lawn section that's more outdoors and you have to sit on the grass and bring a blanket.  Our backs are bad so I try not to get lawn seats even though they're cheaper.  Live is truly one of my favorite bands.  I loved every cd they released and saw them when they toured a few times.
I actually just saw Counting Crows last year with Rob Thomas and it was wonderful!!!
My main goal was to see Live.  A little history on them, as a band , they split up and it was kinda ugly for many years.  The lead singer Ed Kowalcyk went on to have his own solo career and I also saw him in concert.  They recently after 20 + years reunited which was huge and so nice to see them back together.
Live opened up first before the Crows. My area we sat in had a bunch of duds who were either not familiar with Live , don't care to dance and sing, or too tired after a work day.  Once Live came out, I was on my feet and I danced and sang the whole time.  There was a girl next to me and a girl in front of me that also stood which was fun.  The man next to Todd even commented once the Counting Crows came on and said " Live must be HER band! She knows every word to every song!! We have been watching her."   LOL.   I love music so much and I love hearing the bands sing my favorite songs. That's why I go to concerts a lot.
We actually had to leave the concert after 7 songs of the Crows because it was already after 10pm and I had to train all day today and had to be on my A game.  Ironically, I didn't sleep very well at all so I should have just stayed for the whole concert.  If I had not recently seen the Crows last year, I wouldn't even considered leaving early.  Adam Duritz told a lot of stories and history about his songs that he wrote and I really enjoyed that aspect.  Such a great night!! To top things off, we only had 100 degrees with a slight breeze and it wasn't miserably hot like 109 over the weekend.

You say-

I am right in the middle of a crazy busy schedule with work that started last week. I am training every day - all day until 2central and then I have to catch up on emails and other parts of my job.  Didn't NOT want to post so here is one of my fave songs right now on the Christian charts.
Also, thank you for your prayers. It was 2 loooong weeks plus a few days but Jax is finally back to himself.  We are so relieved!

God Bless America

Hey yall, so today is exactly a week that my boy dog Jax was sick and he's not better. In fact , I think its got a little worse.  Our worry is still off the charts and we have another vet appointment today . I appreciate your continued prayers for him and for us.  Its been a rough week!! Lots of laundry every single day from his messes. He looks at us with his precious sad eyes and you can tell he doesn't feel good.
Does anyone have big holiday plans for this week? As for me, I have to work every day but tomorrow so we cant really do a big shindig.  Its supposed to be cooler for us tomorrow around the 90's so most likely i'll be in the pool most of the day.  Isnt that funny that we get so excited for temps in the 90's because we're just SO OVER the triple digits?!!
Normally we would be entertaining a small party get together but we're exhausted and still worried about Jax so its a non exciting event for us.  My uncle is a having his annual July 4th party this Saturday so we'll be attending that and will see our share of fireworks and have BBQ.

Whatever you do or wherever you go- please stay cool and be safe!!

A little bit going on

Soooo, I am going to keep it short today.  My anxiety has anxiety this week.
My little boy dog Jax is really sick.  We have taken him to the vet yesterday and he's on medication but I don't see a lot of improvement.  We're going to give it all day today with medication since it was only half day yesterday on meds and then tomorrow decide the next move - probably a full blood check which is very expensive.  Yall, I brought him Jax when he was just old enough to leave his mother. He's my little boy and when you see it in his eyes how awful he feels, I break.  I've cried everyday.  I don't know what he got into and what caused this.  My little girl Lila is fine and she's the one that eats dead animals every chance she can and kills rabbits daily. Anyway, I am very very stressed about Jax and would appreciate any healing prayers.
Then to add to the mix, our air conditioner is on the fritz and wont cool down past 78.  It was 107 yesterday and the heat triggers my migraines.  Crying triggers my migraines. We have someone coming tomorrow between 1 and 7 pm to look at the air conditioner.
I am so much to be thankful for but depression is a crappy thing.  I can still sit here and feel sorry for myself even though I have blessings all around me.
I'll mention in later post about my hit and run I was involved in last Saturday.  I am Ok and my truck has a long scrap but still!!!! So sucks!
Here is a song that I've been listening to on repeat this morning.  I really like it.

Its been way too long

I have no specific reason or even a good reason why its been almost a year since I've last posted here on my blog. Last year was a tough year and then life just sort of got away and busy and here we are with no posts. Its not because I didn't think about blogging, so many occasions I would specifically take a picture with the plan to talk about it and post .
In fact, when I came to look at blog a few weeks ago , I noticed my cover pictures were gone. I had no idea they expired - did you? I had hired someone a few years ago to help me with it and I don't even have the original copy of what it was anymore with my logo.
Soooo, I am excited to be back and I am going to give this a whirl again.  I wont have any rhyme or reason to my posting but just what feels good to me. I have so much to share and this is like a personal diary in ways that I enjoy going back and reading on events over the years.
Does anyone use an app to blog ? I used to use Blogger SO MUCH and that slowed me down tremendously when they did away with the phone app.  I tried using Blogo and now I cant get that to work for me for some odd reason.
I look forward to reconnecting with my blogger friends and begging for forgiveness for becoming a ghost and dropping out of your lives.  I miss you so much.
I'll be back- soon - I promise!!!
