Did you know it's National Wine Day? How did i not know this sooner? I would have planned a little wine sippin party or something. What i WILL do is open one of my 5 bottles i received for my birthday last week and see how many we can finish over the weekend.

Speaking of weekend- its Memorial Day weekend which means most people have a 3 day weekend with Monday off.  I dont have a lot planned this weeked because I will be traveling to Vancouver on Monday to work next week and be able to train them Tuesday morning. Its not a holiday for them  (Canada) this week so the show must go on.

I never did mention some big events that happened these last few days or so. First of all we lost Donna Summer. I really felt such a sadness. She was a huge part of  my growing up years while roller skating every Friday night at the roller rink. I even had a routine in high school drill team to her songs in the late 80's. It's funny to think i sang Bad Girls all the time. I  knew every word to her songs but i didnt realize all of content of which i was singing at 10 yrs old and up. HEHE.

Then, a few days later we lost Robin Gibb of the BeeGee's. That leaves Barry Gibb as the last one living. He was the most handsome of all them. I am not lying, i had 3 posters of them on my walls when i was little. I even had their albums to play on my cool record player in my room. If you're a kid of the early 80's, then you know how HUGE the BeeGees were. That family has had a lot of sadness starting with Andy Gibb dying. He was the youngest and cutest of the family and i had poster of him too.  SO sad!!

BeeGees- i had red shiny satin jacket like theirs

Andy Gibbs- sigh!
I've never participated in a blog hop before but i wanted to try it one out so today is the day. I would love to have some new followers and meet some Blogger buddies. Not sure if i'm doing this right though......

I did not make a single post last week.  Not because I was too busy but because I managed to come down with Strep throat last Sunday (Mother’s Day) and it kicked my butt! No really- it did.
I was sooo sick and miserable for 5 solid days. I had a high fever, my body ached, and I couldn’t swallow without my eyes tearing up. I don’t ever remember having strep before but I don’t wish it on anyone! Thank you to the maker of antibiotics-specifically the Z-Pak.  To make things worse my birthday was last week and I gave it to my boyfriend.  I was home last week in that I wasn’t traveling which is a true blessing in  itself. I cant imagine being so sick all by myself while stuck in Canada so I am happy that it happened while I was home.  Another good thing is that I have a job that doesn’t require me to actually work in the office if I choose not to so I was able to work from home every day last week and not spread my germs to my coworkers.
I am so glad I celebrated my birthday earlier 2 Fridays ago. A bunch of my friends got together and we went to Club Schmitz. This is my 2nd annual party held there and it’s such a laid back place to celebrate. I had at least 30 friends that came and went throughout the night and we had fun. My honey bought me the most yummiest cake for me. It was Italian Wedding cake and man it rocked!
Another birthday day gift was concert tickets to see Robert Earl Keen at Billy Bob’s. I LOVE him and it was too much fun. Remember when I to see him last October? I posted on that too.
All in all it was still a good week for me and I know it could have been worse. I am so blessed to have awesome friends that made me feel better with their texts and messages offering to bring me chicken soup, etc.
A few friends at Club Schmitz

I look toasted here but i was very tired (flew from Canada that day)

This is my hat REK signed a few yrs ago. I always wear to his concerts.

Oh I almost forgot- I bought my Dad’s Harley!!!! WHAT? I KNOW!! I am so excited for that too.  As I’ve mentioned many times, my Dad is not in the best of health and he really couldn’t be riding the Harley anyway. He had mentioned that he thought of selling it and that he would get another one once he got better. I really want to keep it in the family and he also needed the money to help with the medical bills.  Win =win situation! I needed a bike and Dad needed the money. My summer is going to be so great now that I can participate more in my CMA chapter rides. YAY! My boyfriend and I borrowed the bike from Dad a few weeks ago when we had our CMA-Run for the Son. It’s a great bike and comfortable for the day rides around town. My back is not ever going to be great so to do long distance trips, we’ll need a bigger touring bike one day but my bike now is perfect for majority of the time.
2003 Springer Softtail. Aint she pretty?!

I’m not traveling this week either and I’m enjoying my time with my friends and family after work almost every day. I’m also working in the office this week and I love talking to my coworkers. I actually miss them and my desk. I’m such a  nerd, I know!

Hey Y'all! I'm just hanging out in my hotel room now in Toronto (Canada that is) and thought "what a great time to blog". It's flippin' raining here again like it does everytime i come to Toronto. Do you get so crazy tired that you cant fall asleep? That's where I'm at right now. I am whooped! When i booked my tickets ,there were no direct flights available so i had a layover Monday at LaGuardia airport in New York. That's so hard on me y'all because i LOVE me some New York. It's just a teaser to see the city in the background and not even have time to grab a cab and play for a while. I was not a happy camper when i landed there and got off the plane. You see, for some crazy reason, they make you go through security all over again to go from one terminal to another and its connected so close. Seriously, i maybe walked 50 yards around the corner from my gate and had to go thru that again which meant that i had to throw away a BRAND new bottle of water. You're supposed to be safe to buy any beverages once you clear security WHICH I DID. That's the only airport that i've seen in my travels that is designed that way. What made matters worse is that my purse was not zipped and when it went through the roller belts, everything fell out of my 2 little pockets inside. My powder compact fell out to the ground and literally crashed to dust. Nothing to save. Why is that a big deal? Well it's not cheap to buy anything in Canada with all their numerous taxes.
Trust me. I'm being whiney huh?!

Billboard in airport (LaGuardia)

This is how close to the city- so hard to look out airport window
I'm working with a lady named Katherine this week who is based out of Montreal and she drove into Toronto (about 5 hours) and picked me up from the airport. It's nice to have a coworker drive us everywhere so that i dont have to rent a car. I still dont have Toronto down with directions yet even after all my trips here. Almost but not quite yet.  I asked her to take me to drugstore so that i could buy some powder or else i would end up looking like a streetwalker every day with bright blush on my cheeks. Shopping that night is about the extent of doing anything this week after work. We've been training classes back to back from 8 to 5:30 and we're so wiped we just grab dinner and then back to our rooms.
As for dinner, here's where i've eaten so far. We take turns choosing so Monday i let Katherine pick the place. How funny is it that she wanted to eat at a Texas Longhorn Steakhouse in Toronto? Really? I just flew in from Dallas 8 hrs before. Oh well. It was not good at all. Apparently it used be good but has gone downhill recently. Last night we ate at place called Moxie's. It didnt knock my socks off but it was ok. Tonight we tried out a place new to us called Turtle Jack's. It was really good and i will go back there when i return on next trip. I had a cheeseburger that was perfect but had a cup of cheese broccoli soup that was awesome. I've got a late night tomorrow at the office and i'm switching to a closer hotel near airport that has a shuttle. Katherine was really sweet to offer to take me to airport but i have to get up at 3am to leave by 4 so a shuttle will be better. Friday will be a very long day for me and i am having an early birthday party thrown for me that night. Yikes! I want to try to post tomorrow night too cause i want to share last weekend with you regarding my CMA Run for the Son event we had. Stay tuned. :)

What a great day! I started off finding a dollar in the parking lot of Starbucks.  That was so cool! I know it was just a dollar but it doesn’t happen to me very often. To top it off , I was at Starbucks because I received my free drink from using my registered Starbucks card. It makes a difference peeps! Every 15 times using your card, you get a free drink any size (which to me means Venti). You get a gold card for using your registered cards 30 times. Mine was sent to me with my name on it-its fancy.  You also get a free drink on your birthday which means I should be receiving another card in my mail any day now. I’m not a “drip”coffee drinker but if I was, I would get a free refill too.  I know, I am sooo addicted. I have to be honest though, my company pays for mine when I travel so I can indulge everyday on the road. When I’m not traveling its out of my own pocket. I’ve been on a tight budget this month so FREE is good! Then, with my free dollar I promptly went across the street to McDonalds and bought me a breakfast sandwich off dollar menu so I sent a whole .08cents on breakfast today.

Do y’all have Rosa’s CafĂ© and Tortilla Factory? If so, then you’re perfectly aware of Taco Tuesday. Oh My Goodness! Listen to all the food you get for 3.99$.  You get 3 tacos, rice and beans, and 2 flour tortillas. The tacos can be soft or crispy and you can have chicken , beef, or both. That is a lot of yumminess for 4 dollars and I am such a happy girl when I’m home to enjoy this deal. I actually ate Mexican last night for dinner and could eat it again tonight with no problem. I could eat Tex-Mex everyday and I almost do.

I have the most awesome , sweetest, amazing grandma (known as Nanny) in the whole universe! I had mentioned to her a few weeks ago that it had been years since she made me peanut butter rice krispy treats. She taught me to make those when I was in junior high but its never the same when you make it yourself. Well, last weekend I drove to East Texas to visit and guess what she had for me?Yep, she made a whole platter and they were already in a Ziploc for me to take home. They are so yummy and I probably should have taken the picture when the bag was full. I have one or three on the hour.  I included the recipe in case you get the craving for these.

Ok the whole post today is about food – oh well.
