Mimi and Marie Kondo

Hey everyone, Happy Monday.  How was your weekend?  I started a project for myself recently to go through my closets way before the Marie Kondo craze. After watching her shows though, it definitely inspired me to have my drawers and closets more organized. In fact, a few weeks ago I organized my underwear drawer by adding shoeboxes and actually folding my underwear which I never thought I would catch myself and admit to doing. LOL!!   In my guest bedroom, I have a wall to wall closet and the closet rods were being held by cheap plastic end pieces.  We have had to replace a few of them in last few years and it was time for this closet- the piece was about to pop off any second. Todd is replacing them with metal end caps and screwed into the wall. This meant every single thing had to come off the rod so I put on top of bed (like MK encourages) and a pile on each side of the bed.  It was perfect timing to go through all that I no longer like or no longer fits.  HOLY COW! It took all day yesterday.  I felt so accomplished. I have 2 bags that I gave to coworker today, my niece came over and ended up stuffing a huge industrial garbage bag full for herself, I have one bag for goodwill and a pile of spring clothes that my local consignment shop is accepting.  I had 83 hangers leftover and an empty box that held sweaters.  Yall, I am a shopper and for a long time, clothes shopping was pretty much my hobby for many years.  I have toooo many though and this process opened my eyes drastically. I am on a roll and will continue to discard.  I had also just took 4 bags of clothes and random stuff to Goodwill last week and took 2 huge bags of clothes stuffed for a church friend of mine.  I am embarrassed to say I still have 2 closets in the house of clothes that i'll be going through soon. My mom is coming in April though so I wanted to start on the guest room.

I have been stressed trying to get my house back together after the holidays and I want to make some changes in my living room like new furniture and rugs which cost money but I am working on redoing some things.  I am still not breathing great and I've been super stressed.  Asthma sucks and its wearing me down. I have been stress eating!!

Lastly, we celebrated my grandma's 91st birthday on Saturday. We all got together at this yummy Italian restaurant for her with a cake and gifts of course. I am So incredibly blessed to still have both grandmas and both are 91.  Nanny turned 91 back in July so she will soon be 92 and its so awesome.

So that was my weekend - it was a busy one but a good one.  Oh and Todd bought me some beautiful tulips from local grocery store for Valentines and matching Harley Davidson license plate covers for my truck. Its something I had asked for and I was so happy to get them!! He bought them last week in York at the Harley plant.
Have a good week!

More concerts and work travels

Hey there, I ALMOST let a week go by without posting.  You got to admit, I've been trying hard since I've come back. LOL
So this week has been crammed packed starting with this past Tuesday night's concert.  We saw the Revolution 3 tour which is Bush , Stone Temple Pilots, and The Cult.   We typically don't ever pass on The Cult when they come to town.  It was such a great concert and we had bought the cheap seats in the lawn and we had a nice breeze which helped.  Ironically, it poured down rain up until a few hours before the concert started and then not another drop.  It was perfect!  I had never seen STP while Scott Weiland was the lead and then of course he died a few years back (2015). They replaced him with another guy Jeff Gutt who does  a pretty darn good job as the lead.  I had already seen Bush in the 90's and The Cult 3 or 4 times but it was still a show we wanted to see. A band called The Dirty Hooks actually opened for all of them and yall- we really enjoyed them!!! The drummer is a chick who also has great vocals.  If you're on Spotify, you can find them there.
concerts are the best for people watching

Yesterday, I flew to Salt Lake City which is where i'll be working until next Friday the 24th. I am supporting a conversion which means i'll also be working tomorrow and potentially Sunday.  I've been here before a few times so I really don't mind working from here.   I will tell you a funny story ( to me at least), I was using my google maps app on my phone and as I was approaching my work location I saw the Harley symbol for their store, I was thinking that's cool that i'll be somewhat close to Harley, when right when I passed it my GPS said you've reached your destination.  I laughed out loud thinking how does google maps know my love for Harley.  I didn't see my location anywhere so I pulled over in a parking lot and called an employee here for the correct address and when they told me, it was actually behind another store facing the street and i'm directly across the street from Harley!  So cool and special bonus that I can hear the bikes coming and going all day. I stopped by today in fact on my lunch hour.
Then speaking of extra bonuses,  Todd also flew in last night a couple hours after I did and he's working all day with one of his brokers. Which means his company paid for his trip.  He also has some family here who we're having dinner with tonight.  I am so excited to have Todd here for a few days because that really breaks up the loooong time I have to be here. Send prayers that tomorrow goes smoothly and I don't have to work too late so I can show Todd around.
Last night, I just happen to glimpse out my bedroom hotel window and spotted the sunset.  It was so pretty!

So that's my week- concerts, rain, packing, flying, working.  :)
Have a great weekend and have fun and be safe!

My last day in Sturgis

Can't believe it was a week ago already that I was cruising along on the Harley with my hubs and good friends.  Sigh. This week in Dallas has been awful crazy hot and I want out! Triple digits every day up to 106. It's still 89 degrees at 9 pm! Nooooo.
This year is the 75th anniversary of the Sturgis bike rally. They are expecting over a million people to have attended this years rally. We go days before it "officially" starts and head out the weekend it does start.  All the vendors and events are there and we don't miss out. We saw a huge increase of people on Friday and Saturday. By Saturday, we could barely get anywhere because it was so crowded and lines everywhere.
I was flying out on Saturday so we had 2 places we wanted to be. I wanted to start the day in Sturgis and then wrap up at the Rapid City Harley shop before I go to airport.  They had tons of vendors there and lots of big events at RC Harley.
In Sturgis we walked through the Harley tents and saw the new bikes.  There were games you could play and sign up to win prizes. I got some junk like a coozie, rain poncho and beer opener that's flat and goes in wallet. Lol!
Every bike brand was there. Honda, Victory, Indian, Kawasaki, custom builders , you name it!!   I like seeing the new models and the paint jobs. My favorite part is walking down Main Street and seeing all the bikes and the paint jobs they have.
We ate lunch in Rapid City once we got there from a grilled cheese food truck. I love me some food trucks yall! They put Mac n cheese on their sandwiches and it was delish!  I bought a few souvenirs there and then Todd and I headed to airport.  My plane was delayed AGAIN!!  They have a bar and grill upstairs and it's before you get through security so Todd and I had a drink together before he left.   I got so sunburned!! I applied a few times but when you're inching along outside with no shade , it's going to happen.  I'm currently in peeling stage.
I had such a great time!!! I had told Todd that I didn't want to go to Sturgis anymore. I may have lied.  I will go back I just don't want to go next year. I need a break. I love Deadwood too much not to ever see it again.
Pappy and Pearl were the rally founders of Sturgis
Its carved into the tree- very cool!
The little chuckwagon had a Wienie dog in it.
I have pictures of this lady and dog from last year. So cute!
Parking lot in Rapid City- must have been thousands of bikes
Have a great Thursday!
