Cant catch a break

Hey yall, so i didn't post last week at all. I had a trillion things to get done in preparation of my estate sale all while being injured. So August 31 ( Labor Day weekend) was my wedding anniversary. I woke up crying and knew it would be a hard day.  Two of my good friends came to spend the day with me. Our plans were to go eat lunch,  buy a new TV and then tackle my house to get more organized and stuff put out for sale. We managed to eat lunch and went to Walmart and i bought a new TV ( my old one kept humming real loud and i couldn't watch anything).  We got back to the house to drop off TV and my friend Debbie was working on my pool pump and changing the timer. I was going to see her do it and as i walking stepping down the 2 concrete steps, my left foot twisted while my right foot was in air stepping down. My legs went right out from underneath and i slammed into my steps. My ankle instantly swelled to size of grapefruit and i busted my tailbone .   The only blessing to this was that my other friend that was there used to be head nurse for major hospital in Dallas in the ER for over 20 years and she's now on an elite Trauma team at a different hospital. She knew what to do immediately.  My ankle is not broke but my muscle/tendon is strained. My tailbone could be cracked but i opted out of xray because there's nothing they can do it for anyway and so why spend money i don't have.  Needless to say i lost all that day including the following day to ice my ankle and sit in recliner.  I went to lunch with friend on Monday and i'm  using crutches. I am SUPPOSED to stay off my ankle but this happened 5 days before my estate sale.  SUCKS so bad!! My tailbone hurts the worst. It hasn't improved in the slightest and i had to buy a special pillow off Amazon to use while i work.  I bought a cheap inflatable donut from Walmart and it had a leak in it so its trash.

I just tried attaching picture and i got error that it cant copy over so not sure why.  :(
My sale was for last Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I sold a lot but i have so much stuff that i still needed to sell much more. On Saturday it was 103 and just too hot for people to want to shop and dig. I totally get it but i may need to do another sale in the early spring.  All in all though, i'm happy with what i made. Everything i sold is just that less i have to box up these next few weeks.  Since my whole life fiasco started, I've had big projects to focus on. I first needed to clear out my storage with all my inventory and get it to my house. That took a few weeks to get done. Then was to focus on setting up and going thru all tubs to get ready for the sale. Now that sale is over, i have to focus on getting all the shelves and inventory out of 2 guest bedrooms for my roommate to move in end of month.  Its a lot to do but i like keeping super busy with end results.
So that's it for now. My house is chaos and i'm slowly putting things back to where they belong and packing up the guest rooms.

Hope you're having a nice week so far.

Celebrations and visits

Hello my blogger friends! How was your Labor Day weekend?
My weekend started off with a great celebration of my 5 year wedding anniversary.  Our tradition is to have dinner at the same restaurant that Todd proposed to me at. Its super nice and I always look forward to knowing we'll go there once a year. The restaurant is called 3 Forks https://www.3forks.com/ and the steaks are amazing!!  We both look forward to the 3forks salad which has blue cheese crumbles and a maple pecan vinaigrette that is incredible.  I also always get a side order of lobster mac n cheese which is my favorite. I always end up taking some home and eating the leftovers the next day.
They always bring a complimentary slice of cake if you tell them you're celebrating a special occasion
The following day on Saturday, my cousin Monya and her daughter Emma came by to pick me up and we went to East Texas to visit Nanny and my mom.  It was a nice day of just hanging around and we stayed until after 4 which means we didn't get home until around 6:30.   It was nice to see my mom and I look forward to having her back at my house for a visit soon.  Nanny was doing Ok but I am worried about her. I feel like she's declining slowly . She's doing great for 91 but I see some changes.

Mostly on Sunday and yesterday, we were lazy and sat on couch and watched movies. It was great not going and going.  It rained all day yesterday and it was perfect lazy weather!  We also started watching the series Shameless finally. We're only on season 1 episode 6 now but we're liking it.  A bunch of our friends told us we had to watch it so we're way behind.
Last month was also my 7 year anniversary for blogging. Its been quite a whirlwind with some lengthy stops in between but I am so glad I started this blog and so very grateful for the friends I've met along the way .

Happy Tuesday yall!!

Wedding Anniversary

Today is our 3 year wedding anniversary.   I am trying not to burst into tears thinking about Daddy walking me down the aisle and our daddy -daughter dance.  Instead i am distracting myself thinking about the most amazing gouda mac n cheese we served at reception. HAHA! For real, we have had more people tell us that we had the best wedding food they've ever had and i have to agree. We had steak and twice baked potatoes, ceasar salad and the mac n cheese. We had of course our wedding cake and grooms cake that was so delicious! We got married at a winery and we brought cases of beer in. No one went hungry or thirsty at the wedding. Todd played a projector that had pictures of our guests with us at some point. People enjoyed the slide show. We also had a photo booth with cute props and i love looking at those pics. Especially when we weren't ready for the next picture in the series of 4. LOL
That night was magical to have my mom and dad and most all of our family and friends there to celebrate us.  Fun times!

Todd proposed to me on 12-12-12 at a wonderful swanky 4 star steak house. I was so emotional the night he proposed that i couldnt eat. I didnt have an appetite.  So what we do on our anniversary now is go back so i can enjoy the meal.  I am so excited for tonight!
Have a great day yall!

My wedding anniversary

Today is our 2nd wedding anniversary.  It really does seem like yesterday and the last 2 years have literally flown by!  2013 was such a crazy wonderful chaotic stressful year.  My dad had been so ill and went through his transplant just a month before the wedding.  In fact, i had put the wedding on hold until i knew any type of prognosis for my dad.  I couldnt bare the thought of getting married without my parents being there. They waited a looooooong time to see me marry.  HAHA!
The wedding was at a winery called Delaney Vineyards in Grapevine, TX.  They were so super strict on what we could and couldnt do and when it had to happen and to be out , etc.  It was a gorgeous venue but not sure if i had to do it all over again i would have it there.
The day ended up being the most hottest day of the whole year. SERIOUSLY!! I SWEAR ON MY DOGS!  It was miserable outside. Some guests left  soon after the ceremony because they didnt feel well that they chalked up to heat exhaustion. Todd's car broke down 3 hours before the wedding and was stranded on the side of the road.  He had his brother Kevin and the kids with him.  Of all things, my friends who were coming early to do my makeup saw his car and gave them all a ride back to the apartment.  The car had to be towed and my brother n law took Todd to the wedding.  It was a crazy chain of events that took place that day but WE DID IT!!!
Todd and i have been together for 4 years and married for two of those.  I love him so much!
I love being married. I love saying " my husband....".  I love knowing that we committed to each other in front of all our loved ones and took an oath under GOD to honor and love each other to death do us part.  It hasnt all been a picnic of course. We have had some major disagreements where we have yelled and cried and we wanted to kill each other.   During those fights though i never once worried if it would be "the end" for us.  That is so comforting and different than when you're only dating.
According to the wedding guides out there, the gift for year 2 is : the traditional is cotton and the modern is china.  I didnt get Todd either one of those!! We are having dinner at the fancy steakhouse that Todd proposed to me at. We celebrate our anniversaries there now.  I am sooo excited!
