U- Unbelievable

Dang! Who knew that today would be harder to blog than it is on Saturdays.
It's been a Monday for sure.  Hey better late than never.  The first thing that comes to mind for the letter U is a song. Unbelievable.
Back in the early 90's, I was in college and  was all about dancing every night that I could. Dallas had some great night clubs to go dancing with my friends. I was not really into drinking , I just wanted to dance and yes - flirt with the boys.  I was not quite 21 but the bouncers and doormen knew me and would let me in as long as they didn't see a drink in my hand.  I would periodically look over and I'd spy them looking at me making sure I was "being good".  Good times!
This song was super popular and there was an extended dance version. My girlfriends and i would all squeal and run to the dance floor when we heard it come on.  I even bought the tape but honestly I didn't like any of the other songs.  Every so often , I'll hear it now played on the radio and it still brings back fond memories of some fun times.
Its by the band EMF and song is Unbelievable

"T"- Todd

What?! It's not 10pm yet and I'm posting !! I tell ya, blogging on Saturdays is not easy for me. This is the 2nd weekend since I moved , so I feel like I have to work from dusk to dawn to get the place in order. We spent the entire morning and afternoon unpacking the garage.  I know , you'd think we would focus on the inside of the house BUT... I needed to know where some things were in the garage. To add to my all time craziness, i have my junk show that I signed up for next weekend.  I had my first show last November, and she let us sign up for the spring show at the time.  Of course, I had no idea I would be buying a house 6 months later when I signed up.  I'm really not ready but at same time, I really need to sell a lot of stuff to get out of my garage.
I wanted to mention my sweet husband Todd.  In August, we will celebrate our 3rd year wedding anniversary. We dated 2 years before we married so almost 5 years that we've been together.
Todd is 6 months older than me and I live that we're the same age.  He also loves music as much as I do. We attend many concerts and love listening to live bands.  Todd is also a drummer for our church worship band.  We often mention how lucky we are that we both love music and have quite a bit of knowledge between the two of us about bands , songs, etc.
Todd loves to ride his Harley.  Fun fact, I helped him study for his motorcycle license test 12 years ago.  I had my license years before him and when we first met, he called them Murdercycles and had no interest in bikes.  He's come full circle now!!
Todd was / is my best friend.  We met 21 years ago and became instant friends. In between those years he had moved to Houston. We never lost touch and always kept up our friendship. It was absolutely 100% platonic.  I literally did not see him as anymore than a friend. He was also married and I knew his wife and we would all hang out together sometimes. Fast forward to 2011, i had ended an 8 yr relationship with my Ex and Todd has recently divorced.  We were checking on each other just for moral support and to make sure each other were OK.   One night we stepped out for dinner, and he said to me " you realize this is the first time ever we are both single at the same time".  I just nodded and stared.  Todd then said , " I think we have to least give it a shot to see if there is chemistry between us.  Let's face it, we know everything about each other - good , bad and ugly".  I was so scared of the possibility that it could ruin our friendship, I got angry that he would even consider us dating.   Later on that week, I was talking to mom over the phone and I remember telling her " you're not going to believe what Todd did! He went THERE and made our friendship awkward. It was like Harry met Sally". Then Mom told me that she couldn't explain it but that she had good feeling about us. She felt like she knew Todd from all the years of our friendship. He used to always call me when I visited her in Montana.  She said " y'all are grown adults, if it doesn't feel right after the first date or so, stop before it jeopardizes your friendship.
Like they say, the rest is history! Todd has been my rock this past year and more. When I "broke" and became very anxious and depressed , he's been so great.  When I started counseling, he was supportive. When i lost Daddy a few months ago, he was right by my side.  I haven't been easy to live with lately with my anxiety off the hook from the move.  He hugs me and tells me it will all work out.
I love him so much and I'm so lucky that he loves me.  I still wonder why GOD has me wait until I was 45 to ever marry for the first time , then I just remind myself that HE was preparing both myself and Todd for each other in marriage.

"L" - Lupus

My sweet little momma just recently left from her 4 week visit here in Dallas.  I sure loved every minute of having her close. Mom lives very far away in Montana and usually we only get to see each other once a year.
Mom has Lupus. She was diagnosed with it about 12 years. Truthfully we believe she was misdiagnosed for many years leading up to that. She was told she had Chronic Fatigue, Epstein Barr, and other wrong illnesses at one point or another.
I have slowly watched Lupus change my mom in drastic ways. It's killing her. Literally. She's been in hospital on life support twice in the last few years. It's affecting her kidneys and other organs. The treatments are forms if chemotherapy.
When she was here, there were days that just getting out of bed and walking to the couch was all she could accomplish.  The days she was able to shower , get dressed and go to lunch or out to dinner, completely wore her out.  She had a few lupus flare ups on her head and her face during her stay.  My heart breaks every day.  There is no cure. The treatments tend to differ as well from doctors and states you're in. In little bitty Timbuktu Montana- her doctors are learning about lupus more and more to help her.

All images were borrowed from Pinterest.
Do you know anyone with Lupus? Were you aware of how serious it is?  There's got to be more awareness.  May is lupus awareness month and May 10, is world lupus day. I wear purple which is the color chosen for Lupus ribbons and shirts.

I get by with a little help from my friends: Beatles

Have a great Thursday y'all!

"K" - Keep on

Sometimes you have to remind yourself to keep going. Keep on Keepin on!

Unpacking will be life for the next few weeks because I work a full time job and I'm in a very busy season.  I'm now leaving the house at the same time I used to be getting up at since we moved further from where I work.  Yawn!
I treated myself to a Starbucks this morning. It helps me keep on Keepin on!!

Have a great day y'all!

Fixing a common problem using Blogger- No Reply

So here's the deal, even if you KNOW you were not a No Reply blogger a few years ago, guess what you may be today.  Some of my seasoned bloggers that have been around for years are all of a sudden No Reply and they don't know it. Blogger likes to change things up every so often.  Several bloggers have posted about it and shared the steps.  So to not reinvent the wheel, I am sending you to a blog that posts the steps to follow. They are very simple and can be done or checked in less than a minute.
Anyone Can Decorate (click on the blog name) is a fun blog that I like to follow because she is so crafty.  She posted on this issue a few years ago. Please at least check so that you can receive comments from fellow bloggers after you post on their blog.
Have a great day!!!
