Its Thursday and I'm so glad the weekend is close by. Saturday is going to be a wonderful day of celebration and I'll be at Dads one year anniversary ( new birthday) of his double lung transplant.
It's hard to think that this time last year, dads health was declining rapidly and was at our desperation stage of anything and a miracle.
This is Dad , a week after his surgery and eating a burger. The guy next to him was the hospital priest and he's still in touch with us. Having a burger was HUGE, the last few months leading to the surgery, dad couldn't eat because it literally wore him out. He lost too much weight. It was awful to see him struggle.
And here is dad last week riding one of his horses. I tear up thinking how awesome this is.
I am currently on a medication that helps with the dizziness but I feel like a zombie. It makes me very tired and Todd said I look "checked out". All I want to do is lay down. Kinda hard to do when you're at the office.
Good news is that we're getting rain right now in Dallas and we so need it! Its bringing the temps down which I am happy about it and our yard is getting watered. Perfect napping weather.....
Hey y'all, happy Tuesday. Hope everyone had a great weekend and your Monday was decent. I am still having dizzy spells and actually look forward to my Drs appt today. Yesterday when I woke up, I had a small headache and I had a bad dizzy spell just before I left the house. I feel like it made my brain a little scrambled. For lunch yesterday , I went to pick up something from Canes for both myself and my boss who had meetings and couldn't leave. When I got to the window, I paid for the meals , got my change and our drinks and drove off. LEAVING the FOOD BEHIND!!! What's worse is that I didn't even recognize this until I reached my last exit a block from the office. I had to turn around and go back and I said " yes this is the airhead that left her order".
On Saturday , Todd and I were going to our favorite Chinese restuarant in our old neighborhood. We had started working on organizing the garage and so I was gross and sweaty. After I showered I put on a new tshirt I bought from Old Navy and the tag was really scratchy. Yes I know I seem like a 5 yr old but I hate tags! So I went to cut it out and proceeded to cut a fairly large hole in my new shirt that still had tags. Luckily I have long hair and wore it anyways! Haha
The hole in the shirt was nothing compared to the doozy I let happen to my foot. Earlier that morning ( Saturday) I got in a hurry while getting ready to meet friend for breakfast and I ran into my hat tree in our spare bedroom. As it was falling, instead of getting out of the way- I tried catching it and the heavy base landed right on my foot. It cut my foot and swelled instantly. It bruised up pretty bad and boy did it hurt!

So needless to say, I should have worn a helmet and body armor and sat on couch but who has time for that?
Good news is that after church on Sunday , we continued tackling the garage and we made room for Todd's car. His is newer and my truck is ok parked in the driveway. The Harley has more space and Todd is a happy man!
Oh and I also read the whole book " Gone Girl" over the weekend. It's going to be a movie and I wanted to read the book first. It was really good y'all!

Hey y'all, I thought I would try to get a quick post out today. I really really love blogging believe it or not. I just haven't been feeling all that great. I finally have a Dr's appointment for next Tuesday which is the earliest they could see me. Craziness I tell you! I have to see my primary though because i'm still paying out the nose for my Doc in the Box visits in February for my asthma. I feel like this year I officially started falling apart. I used to be the gal with perfect attendance in school, work, anywhere. I rarely got sick and let it get the best of me. This getting old sucks!
I have people taking bets on what my current ailment is. Some say inner ear infection, Meniere's Disease, Vertigo, my migraines, one person even texted me asking if I was preggo. Um that would be NOOOO! My husband and I both have been fixed which is a whole other discussion. I really don't know why I am having the dizzy spells but I wish they would leave. As mentioned in Wednesday's post, I am going to Sturgis and I cant be dizzy and fall off the motorcycle!
I am feeling an improvement since Tuesday when all this mess hit me so I am grateful for that.

I feel like an "airhead" in every sense of the word. HAHA! I am good as long as I don't have to bend over or make any sudden movements. You know how hard that it when you work from home on Fridays and have a precious puppy that wants all your attention?!

you were bored? What's your go-to cure for boredom?I stay constantly busy. I cant tell you the
last time I’ve been bored.I love to
read, I’m still unpacking at the house, I can get on Pinterest on ipad and be
lost for an hour.
2. What's the last thing you made a reservation for?I made an airplane reservation flying into
Rapid City, South Dakota for first week of August.
3. What's one thing on your summer 'bucket list'? Any plans to make it
happen?This ties into question #2- we
are going to Sturgis! It’s been planned since last year and I cant believe its
almost here. I am not allowed to take any vacation days off of July so i am
flying in for the weekend. Todd and our group are riding the bikes there and
back.Its my second time to go but my
first time to be there with Todd.
4. What's your favorite summertime sip? I love Arnold Palmers- sweet tea mixed
with lemonade
5. What do you find is the best way to handle another person's hostility
and hopefully ease the tension? Its best to just let them vent and get it out.
Listen to them and see if there are valid points that you can agree on.If its really out of control, just walk away.
6. Your favorite film set in summer? I would
say Grease. The movie takes place at the
end of the school year and summer is about to start.I loved that movie!!I also loved all the campy beach movies with
Annette Funicello and Frankie .
7. What word are you using too much lately? Merger..I’m constantly saying “due to the merger”, “because
of the merger”,“the merger”.Cant help that my work life which is over
half of time spent has drastically changed.
8. Insert your own random thought here.I am working from home today and I am super sick. I got up forwork yesterday , drove to office, had some
breakfast and then out of nowhere- I got so dizzy I couldn’t see. I got super
nauseous and hot and my coworker drove me back home. I was too dizzy to
drive.I have had spinning spells today
too and its awful.My stomach hurts and
head is dizzy and not sure whats wrong with me. I had to train a class earlier
and man it was very hard to get through!I don’t havetime to be sick and
this bites.I sound like a total downer
today yall but I don’t get this sick too often.
After a long exhausting week even though tomorrow is a holiday- I am so ready for it to be Friday!
Working through this merger, my team is not allowed to take any vacation days off at all the whole month of July. I will appreciate tomorrow a great deal! We have a some dear friends who are having a party tomorrow night to celebrate one of them becoming a US citizen. Mike (the husband of Caroline ) is originally from Canada and has completed all the courses, signed the forms, taken the oaths, etc and is an American as of just a few days ago. I think its great timing to celebrate his being a US of A citizen. I hope we can see some fireworks from somewhere nearby.
I am super duper excited for a family party out at my uncles house in East Texas on Saturday. My most awesomest ,lovely, bestie cousin Lauren is driving down from Georgia to see her new nephew ( my newest cousin) and the rest of the fam. We are taking Jax too for his country adventure. I even bought him an Old Navy July 4th t-shirt for him to wear. It will be nice to see Nanny again too since it's been 2 weeks.
Sunday we have some friends coming over for dinner after church so we have a pretty full weekend planned. Please be careful out there and have tons of fun!

Hey y'all, my name is Holli and i'm excited to share a little about my hometown. Dallas is my home town and I am every bit a proud Texan! Who else has America's Football team- the Dallas Cowboys? Famous for the best cheerleaders in the world who is seen on more calendars, and USO events. We have the Texas Rangers , Dallas Mavericks and the Dallas Stars so all sports is covered well. Dallas has everything from amazing shopping ( the first and original Neiman Marcus is downtown) , to theatre, Arts, Concert venues, Museums, And we have Southfork of the famous TV show Dallas and Walker Texas Ranger was filmed here and the kids show Barney. True fact , my college buddy was Bebop. Our Texas State Fair is in the heart of Dallas at our Cotton Bowl that features our Big Tex which is our 55 ft tall talking statue. We also have one of the tallest Ferris Wheels in the world. Of course we are not too proud of the fact that the Kennedy assassination put Dallas on the map in 1963 but it does get us visitors and exposure none the less. AND Bonnie and Clyde were from Big D. Dallas is just 2 hours south of Oklahoma border and you can be in Shreveport heading east in under 3 hours. We have several lakes scattered around the metroplex but of course we need more rain because they're too low. We have several Fortune 500 companies based in Dallas like Toyota, Texas Instruments, Exxon/Mobil, SouthWest Airlines, Chili's, Frito Lay, Dr Pepper and more. The Texas state motto is simply "Friendship" coming from a Caddo word teyshas. Dallas has a train/subway system and is very spread out but although we are a bustling city, we still have the downhome attitude and very friendly for the most part. We say Yes maam and sir to everyone , all ages. I am not so friendly on the highways due to road rage though. HAHA! Our music scene has people like Steve Miller, Stevie ray Vaughn, ZZ Top, and many more that have come from Dallas. One thing I CANT mention is our most amazing selection of true Tex-Mex restaurant's and of course Bar-B-Q. I can seriously eat Mexican food everyday and there are tons of choices all around me. Dallas is very diverse and have a great Indian part of town, Chinese, Italian, you name it. I was born here and have watched it grow and change over the years but some of my favorite bars and diners have still lasted. When you come to visit me, you will most likely land in (DFW) Dallas-Ft Worth International airport which is centrally located between Dallas and Ft Worth. You cant miss seeing the stockyards in Ft Worth and the daily cattle drive either. Now here's whats funny- I don't mind telling you to go visit Ft. Worth but you wont catch a native Ft Worth person encouraging you to come to Dallas. There is a deep rivalry and always will be. I love that Dallas still has successful business men that really do wear Cowboy hats and boots with their suits. I wear my Cowboy boots all year long and wouldn't trade that for the world. If you do come see me, wait until end of September where you wont feel like you've stepped off the plane into Sahara Desert. Hey y'all! So yesterday was our last day of being Unisource of which I was employed for almost 19 years. Today is our first official day of being new company and new coworkers. Tomorrow will be the day of celebration though where we will have the ringing of the bell on Wall Street and some hubbub around the office. As I've mentioned, the company we merged with has many of past employees that I've worked with and so its nice to be a family again. After 19 years I am saying goodbye to a company that I truly grew to love. Today we merge with another company, take a new name, and go public. Although we've had our ups and downs, we had a good run, made some great friendships, and just maybe changed some lives.
I cant say that I didn't have anxiety on Monday coming to work knowing that everything i'm used to will be forever changed but at same time its exciting. All I can do is do the best at my job and PRAY that the new CEO wont make me wear panty hose!!
